Four steps to a
searchable library.

— Setup
Add your sample folders.
Sign in with your free account. Sample Vault opens on a starter library you can delete anytime and re-add later. To load your own sounds, point Add directory at a folder; subfolders come too, and files are read in place, never moved.

— Analysis
Let it analyse locally.
Every file is analysed on your machine: tempo, key, brightness, stereo width, and more. Samples play the moment they're scanned, so browse while a big library finishes in the background.

— Search
Describe the sound.
Type what you'd say out loud: "wa rm 808 with a long sub tail" or "airy female vocal chop in F minor". Results rank on the audio, not the filename, and the app suggests searches to try once analysis finishes.

— Workflow
Wire it into your DAW.
Pin the window above your DAW, turn on Ableton Link, and drag samples straight onto a track. Tempo Lock and Key Lock keep auditions in time and in key.
Ask the assistant
Describe a whole section in a sentence and let the assistant pull candidates from your library. Not what you wanted? Tell it why and it adjusts.
Match a reference track
Drop in a track you like and Sample Vault finds the closest sounds you already own. This is the way in when you can hear the texture but can't put a word to it.
Name folders like a producer would
Folder names feed the assistant alongside the audio. "Drum One Shots / Kicks / 808" reads better than "new folder (3)".
Big library? Load it in order
Add your highest-priority folders first so you can search them within minutes. The rest can analyse overnight while you keep playing what's already done.
Free covers the day to day
Your library size is unlimited on every plan, and local analysis is free. The paid plans are for when you want the AI to tag and organise the whole thing.
